A 3.4 magnitude earthquake struck in the hills east of San Jose early Wednesday morning, according to the United States Geological Survey.

The quake hit at about 2:15 a.m. a little under 5 miles east of the Alum Rock neighborhood on the Calaveras Fault, per the USGS website. There are no reports of injuries or damage.
